A SHORT HISTORY OF WOODFORD GREEN

Woodford's existence was first recorded in 1062, and it takes its name from a woodland ford across the River Roding. The town has been home to many notable figures throughout history - Sylvia Pankhurst lived in Woodford Green from 1924 to 1956. Today, it's home to around 45,000 residents, including famous faces Tony Robinson and Meghan McKenna. Lord Sugar can sometimes be seen in the local Pizzeria Bel-Sit.
