A SHORT HISTORY OF EAST HAM

We first hear of East Ham in a 958 AD Anglo-Saxon Charter describing the boundaries of the town. Full of Medieval and Norman history, the town is now home to around 76,000 residents – quite a few more residents than the 79 houses that made up East Ham in the late 17th century. Several famous names also live in the local area, including Idris Elba.
