A SHORT HISTORY OF CHINGFORD

Put firmly on the map after the opening of Chingford Railway Station in 1873, the town has been known as the gateway to Epping Forest ever since. Grade II listed buildings and notable locations, such as Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge, elevate the town’s charm. Today, the town is home to around 66,000 residents, and several famous names live in the local area, including David Beckham, who grew up and went to school in Chingford.
