We are pleased to offer our customers a range of additional services to help them with moving home. None of these services are obligatory and you are free to use service providers of your choice. If you decide to use our services, please be assured that this will not increase the fees you pay to our service providers, which remain as quoted directly to you.
If you choose to use a service provider recommended by Douglas Allen, we will receive the following referral fees which are all subject to the addition of VAT at the prevailing rate:
For Conveyancing Services through Martin Tolhurst Solicitors for Wards and Fine & Country Canterbury or panel conveyancing firms through Move With Us for Cubitt & West, Douglas Allen, Fine & Country Loughton, Pittis and Fine & Country Newport IOW, we receive an average fee of three hundred and ninety to four hundred and ten pounds on completion of the sale. For Conveyancing Services through Direction Law for Arun Land & New Homes, we receive a fee dependant on the sale price, with an average of three hundred and sixty pounds in January 2022. For Medway Law for I Am Sold transactions, we receive a fee of just under four hundred pounds on completion of the sale.
For referring customers to Homewise we receive a fee which can vary but is on average fifty five pounds.
Mortgage Matters Direct (MMD) receive procuration fees from mortgage lenders and commission from insurance companies in the event of a successful transaction. As the amounts involved vary according to each specific mortgage case, MMD customers will receive confirmation of these fees upon instruction and again as soon as the exact amounts are known. A list of lenders with whom we have fee arrangements is available on request.
If you either decide to rent a property or buy a property to let, our Lettings department receives fees for recommending tenancy insurance products and utilities services to landlords and tenants. This includes average fees for each confirmed policy to Let Alliance as follows; forty three pounds for buildings and contents insurance and twenty percent of the premium for liability and contents policies. For No Deposit Plans we receive a fee of sixty pounds from Flatfair Ltd. We receive on average eighty pounds from Virgin Media for each full communications package taken up. Some maintenance contractors offer referral fees of between ten and twelve percent of the cost of works carried out.
For Sales & Lettings we offer a utilities switching service via Tili and can receive fees of between five and thirty five pounds, depending on the services taken.
