‘I first saw the house in 2001 when it was for sale, requiring refurbishment. I had been raised in Grange Hill all my life and was amazed to find out about this picturesque lane with a pretty period house at the end of it. The house was initially built in 1750 and extended in 1850, prior to its latest facelift. It was the farmhouse in which a miller used to grow wheat, mill flour and bake bread – the bread oven still being a feature in the country kitchen. The other houses in the lane began to be built from 1800 to the present day, but it still benefits from a “going back in time” aura. I was working in the centre of London and I was immediately drawn to the country-living aspects of the location, such as waking up to the sound of horses from the stables next door and wildlife in the surrounding fields, whilst still only 0.8 miles from the Central Line tube.

‘The project of refurbishing the home was hard work, but I enjoyed the process and have been pleased with the outcome. The home has proved to be everything I thought it would be and more.

‘Over the years, the house has been shared with family and friends, having hosted parties and family functions to summer barbecues and just relaxing in the garden.

‘The home is just too big now and deserves another family to be living in it – hopefully, they will enjoy the home, garden and location as much as we have.’
