Group Partners are responsible for several branches, helping staff succeed and progress

I lead, train and develop staff, and help with recruitment. Seeing my staff be successful is what I enjoy the most as they improve and get promotions.

Douglas Allen is the company to join if you want a career in this industry. There’s room to grow in many different areas from Residential Sales and Financial Serivices to Compliance and Domestic Energy Assessors.

We like to promote from within so starting with a fresh view of the industry is an advantage. There’s a great career path, a pension scheme and lots of competitions and rewards for staff. There’s a fun side as well with quite a few social events and charity work.

I’ve been with the company for over 25 years. I started as a Sales Advisor (known as a negotiator back then) and was running my own branch within three and a half years. The career path is structured and it’s easy for staff to see where they’re going and how they can move up the ladder.

My proudest moments include one of my branches winning Top Office in Douglas Allen two years running. I took on Walthamstow as one of the worst performing branches and handed it back in the top two.

There’s lots of support in and out of work that wouldn’t have happened in a lot of companies. The company appreciates the hard work you put in with a mutual respect. I’ve suggested ideas in Group Partners meetings that have been pushed out across the whole company.

Developing staff is important to us

New staff go on the induction course, regardless of their experience to learn about the company and how we operate. It doesn’t stop there as we have a Field Trainer as well as myself who visit branches on a regular basis.

In 2012 we introduced The Arun Way. It’s made this a better place to work. It’s our company ethic to outpassion the competition and always give more than people expect. There is more courtesy and respect in the branches and people are more prepared to help each other out.

I’ve taken part in the Blenheim Triathlon for the last couple of years. I did the run last year and the swimming this year. Other charity events include baking cakes and dressing up to get people involved. There’s been a great atmosphere in the branches.

There’s a great structure and team here and the people who are making the decisions have all done the job. That alone demonstrates the potential for you when you join the company.
