Neil, Domestic Energy Assessor Field Support
I'm particularly proud that the company recognised my extra work and made me DEA Field Support. I work from home and normally visit 5 or 6 properties a day. My work at each can be any combination of preparing EPCs, taking photos and creating floor plans. Sometimes the client is present at the house.
Although we work by ourselves, the DEAs have several meetings a year when we get everyone together to share advice. We are always in touch with each by phone and email. I'm always looking for ways to improve the way we work - I'm not satisfied with doing the bare minimum. We use high quality equipment for the best possible results.
The company rewards you for going the extra mile
The training at Douglas Allen is been excellent. As the DEA and photography roles were new to the company we used outside companies. There is classroom based learning followed by live exercises.
There's support whatever the job you’re never left on your own even though we’re a large company. There’s always someone to call if you need help and the management is always open to new ideas.
Always giving more than expected – The Arun Way – is very important, even when the homeowner isn’t present. I was leaving one property when a neighbour asked me what I was doing. It turned out that she was interested in selling so I was able to take her details and pass them on to the local branch to follow up.
