Are you a born salesperson? Have you considered a career in estate agency?
Our Employee Engagement survey allows Douglas Allen staff to inform us of their career aspirations and gives us the opportunity to discover how to assist them in realising their full career potential.
Through these means, we are able to develop achievable career paths throughout every department across the company. We provide training both on and off the job to help our employees grow within their current roles and increase their potential for progression. Successful estate agents often possess high levels of motivation and ambition and are natural salesmen.
Here are just a few of the roles available:
The Sales Advisor role is mostly target-orientated and is often where estate agents begin their careers in the industry. The role offers an important insight into what the industry involves, how it works and how rewarding it can be. Sales Advisors spend a lot of their time with clients and are required to learn on the job at a fast pace.
The most important tasks Sales Advisors will be responsible for are meeting and greeting current and potential clients, generating more business through actively searching for new appointments and accompanying customers on property viewings.
Other duties involve administrative tasks and being involved in the branch’s morning meetings – although a lot of their time will be spent away from the branch.
To be suitable for a Sales Advisor role and to have the potential of being successful in the industry, you must be ambitious, driven, determined, organised and outgoing. Previous experience within the industry is not a necessity.
It is the responsibility of our Marketing Consultants that our clients’ properties are listed on the market effectively, maximising the chances of achieving the best possible price for the client, and that Douglas Allen’s fees are correct.
Other duties involve arranging appointments for viewings, selling properties and promoting Douglas Allen’s in-house conveyancing and mortgage services.
The general day-to-day running of our Douglas Allen branches is the responsibility of our Branch Managers. It is their job to ensure the branch is profitable and its income is of an acceptable level each month. They ensure properties are successfully listed and sold and that clients are aware of the in-house services available to them and are happy with the service they receive.
Branch Managers must have excellent team leadership and motivational skills, as well as a high level of customer service skills. They are also actively involved in the development of their branch’s staff and the encouragement to progress both individually and as a team.
It is often the case that Branch Managers have worked their way up to their position from the bottom, giving them credibility within the workplace.
