Building & Contents Insurance
Your landlord will be responsible for insuring the building and anything in the property that belongs to them. As a Tenant you will need to ensure that you have insurance that covers you in a rental property, there are two elements to this:
Tenants Liability Insurance – this gives you cover in the event that you accidentally damage something in the rental property that belongs to your Landlord. Most Landlords will require you to have this when agreeing to a tenancy.
Contents Insurance – This is optional for you, but strongly advised as the Landlords Insurance policy will not cover any of your belongings, in the event of a fire or theft for example.
We work with Let Alliance who are specialists in Tenant insurances. They can provide you with cover for both Tenants Liability & Contents Insurance, bespoke to your specific needs.
To discuss your requirements in more detail please call them on 01244 421986 – don't forget to say you are one of our customers to get the benefit of our preferential rates.
Residential properties must be covered by building insurance as standard. At Douglas Allen, we offer a competitive Building Contents Policy that is accepted by all lenders.
Our comprehensive building contents insurance provides protection for both your property and its contents, and also covers against accidental damage. This gives you the assurance that your insurance is a pure safeguard against any misdemeanour, both inside and out of your property.
